Announced at BlizzCon 2017 and expected to occur at or near the release of Battle for Azeroth, PvP servers will no longer exist. There are currently four server types: Normal ( PvE), RP, PvP, and RPPvP. To support player interaction within the game, Blizzard offers many options, including text chat and built-in Voice chat, while players may utilize in-game trading and mail and auction systems. Legion introduced World quests in the Broken Isles that changed daily, and Battle for Azeroth added Island Expeditions. Quests occur frequently, and being offline ( resting) increases experience point gain. World of Warcraft in general offers a casual-friendly character progression system up to a point. Wrath of the Lich King added Runeforging.2 initial class-based professions ( Rogue): Lockpicking, Poisons (removed with patch 3.0.2).Battle for Azeroth may remove First Aid, wrapping it into Tailoring.4 initial secondary professions: Cooking, Fishing, First Aid, Riding.Wrath of the Lich King added Inscription.9 initial primary professions, enabling resource gathering and item crafting.Wrath of the Lich King added Death Knight ( Hero class).9 initial classes: Mage, Warlock, Priest, Rogue, Druid, Hunter, Shaman, Warrior, Paladin.These races currently have an unlocking procedure in order to access them, so are not available to new players. Battle for Azeroth added the first of the Allied races.Burning Crusade added Blood Elf / Draenei.8 initial races: Human, Dwarf, Gnome, Night Elf, Orc, Troll, Undead, Tauren.The Talents and Glyphs system allows further customization of the character's skills and stats. Note that, while all classes are now represented by both factions, class availability is ultimately tied to race. Once in the game, they may later choose what professions to pursue. Players create characters by first choosing their faction ( Alliance or Horde), race, and class. Uses and expands the storyline from the Warcraft series of RTS games.Note the following have pre-expansion details separated from expansion details: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.
